We are delighted to welcome Suzanne Strachan to lead this class at our beautiful shop set inside a 17th century barn, in Braintree. Suzanne is a renowned knitting designer and tutor and is also a design consultant for Rowan.

This workshop will cover essential techniques to give a professional look to your knitted garments. The class will cover seaming, picking up and knitting, button holes, three needle cast off, blocking, grafting (Kitchener Stitch), different cast on/off methods and more.

Please prepare and bring with you 5 x 10cm square swatches using a smooth DK yarn – 3 in stocking stitch (RS row all knit stitches, WS row all purl stitches), and 2 in garter stitch (all rows in knit stitch). Please also bring a ball of DK smooth yarn and a pair of 4mm needles (straight or circular), a tapestry/sewing up needle, knitter’s pins and a stitch holder.

This class includes a 1 hour break for lunch, but lunch is not provided. There is a restaurant on site or please feel free to bring a packed lunch.
