Hi Helen, sorry you didn't get on with the pattern. If suppliers provide errata slips, we always include them, but they don't always (if we've got the books in before they have realised there is an errata for example!). You can always find published erratas on their website though. If you had contacted me I would have pointed you in the right direction for this
With regards to the yarn amount, as we always try to explain, unfortunately when swapping between yarns (especially super chunky, which is not a standard weight between yarns), it is a bit of an educated guess and can't be done accurately. Most customers prefer to have slightly more than end up with not enough, so we round up to allow this. This combined with individual tension of the knitter, plus the difference in tension between the yarns, can mean you end up with balls left over.
Regarding knots in the yarn - industry standard allows for up to 3 per 100g as it is a necessary (but annoying!) part of manufacture.
